Running Away

Today morning, oh wait, afternoon, after I woke up, I went downstairs to read the news paper.

Boy was that the biggest mistake for the day!

I read news about a lot of despair, corruption, disasters, religious extremists, Malaysia's stupid political parties etc.

The only good thing that brought a smile to my face was a recap on Julia Gillard's journey to becoming Prime MInister and the match of the day! England Vs. Germany!

So whilst I was reading all that ngativity, I was already in my head thinking of a backup plan. Thinking of which other coutry could I buy property and perhaps settle there.

But then, isn't that just being cowardice and running away?

So now I have to do something, something to fix our corrupted country.

Just need to start working on a strategy.

Your Life story

This one, I would like to dedicate for a very special friend of mine. I actually got it from Robin Sharma's book "Who Will Cry When You Die".

My Friend;
Well, I've aways had a soft spot for her, right from the first day I met her.

So here's to you my Dear dear Friend.

One of the most wonderful things about time is the fact that you cannot waste it in advance. No matter how much time you have squandered in the past, the next hour that comes your way will be perfect, unspoiled and ready for YOU to make the very best of it. No Matter what has happened to you in the past, your future is spotless. Realise that every dawn brings with it the corresponding opportunity to begin a completely new life. If you so chose, tomorrow can be the day that you start getting up earlier, reading more, exercising, eating well and worrying less and even being happier (this I have added on my own). As author Ashleigh Brilliant has observed, "at any moment I could start being more of the person I dream to be- but which moment should I chose?"

No one is stopping you from opening your journal and on a blank page, rewriting the story of your life. This very minute, you can decide the way you would like to unfold, change the central characters and create a new ending. The only question is will YOU chose to do so?

Remember, it is never too late to become the person you have always wanted to be.

I hope this helps you, in wanting to start over. What ever you want to be, I'm right here.

Good Luck to you!
Pinkdot!

Time

Time,
Don't we waste it?

Time is so precious, once it's gone, you definetly can't get it back.
Today, I wasted it, when I got stuck in the rain, after lunching with the Hoe. I was stuck at the LRT. It was pouring heavily, so I couldn't walk to my office. The moment I knew it, I thought, why not I take the LRT go to KLCC, post my letters and come back (cos I wouldn't get wet there and back)
But of course, being cautious, I thought, what if the rain suddenly stopped while I was on the way to KLCC, (the Hoe suggested suddenly taking the train back to my office =.=).

Hence I decided against going there and stood at the Dang Wangi LRT foyer, giving directions to lost tourists :D

By the time the rain stopped, I knew, that I could have just taken the train to KLCC and back. If only I didn't doubt my thought.

I have realised, that when a thought occurs to you, you should just do it. Cos when you stop to think about it, you're just wasting time.
I didn't waste all the time there in the LRT, I gotta to smell the rain, see the rain fall and of course; help tourists!

So I guess it wasn't so bad. But still I could have made better use of it. Oh well, it's gone, there's no point dwelling in the past.

Cheers,
Pinkdot

Ps: I'd like to dedicate this to my fliend Padmini, a person I can talk just about anything and get an honest feed back. you have definitely been a great fliend minii!
Heart you!
Why I'm being nice to her you ask?
Hehe, she made me this beautiful piece of art, and it was very thoughtful of her (although I think she had too much time =D)

Pps: Leaving to Beijing on Monday night!

Day one of Cycling to work

Phewww, I was quite relieved when I came home alive yesterday! Na, i'm just kidding, I knew i would!

But omg, you guys out there, please, don't think cycling's easy, it really isn't.

Even after having done a test run the night before, boy was I exhausted! I was sweaty when i reached Dang Wangi LRT station, but luckily, for one, I was prepared, had a towel with me, and toweled down all the way to work. Felt better after drying up, I wasn't uncomfortable as such,

BUT

I was exhausted to the core!

I was almost gonne turn back and wake my sister up, but I pushed my self, and in my head all I thought was, if I die, it'd be for a good cause.

Anywho, i locked my bike, when to work exhausted!

At work, my dad found out I had cycled to the LRT and called up to give me an earful. =.=

Dad's can be too over protective I tell you.

SAD thing is, everybody who matter to me are very much against me cycling to work.

Initially I contemplated against doing it, but then today, I was reading 'The monk who sold his Ferrari' and I'm back on my original plan of always always cycling to the LRT.

It makes me really happy to know I am, though in a very small way, contributing to the betterment of the environment.
So I shan't stop. Soon enough, I'll work on petitioning to the government about bicycle lanes!
Yay!

oh and yes today I didn't cycle to work today, cos my sis woke up, or rather, we were both woken up ;) dreadfully early, that too!

But Monday I shall be back on my two wheels! Taking life, just, simply...

Ps: I'll be off to Trolak for the weekend on a team building camp. Early morning tmw ='(

Off to bed now!
Night kiddies =)

It's never too late

For new years, I promised I would find a more convenient and green way of getting to work.

It's the 13th of January today.... better late than never right?

;)

So,
step 1:

today at work, during lunch, I went to the bicycle shop that's on Jalan Dang Wangi, near Heritage Row, and bought my self a bicycle lock!

It cost me only RM 15, from a pleasant old man, who talked about how selling bicycles alone wasn't enough to survive...

Next,

Get the bicycle ready!

When I went to get it, I found out that the tyres were flat, actually i only found out after taking the bike out of my house... Like far far away from home, so i had no choice but to cycle to the LRT station, since it was also near a Petrol Station.

Basically I was forced.

At the station, I put on the most pitiful face I could, and luckily there was a guy who was pumping air into his bike, looking at me clueless, he helped me pump air into my bike!

yay puppy dog face!

So here's what's happening, I will be cycling to the Damai Lrt station, after a test run today, here's what I found out

> It takes about 15 minutes to the station
> I might get sweaty, so must bring extra towel
>If I'm wearing a skirt how do I cycle?
>I will not be able to handle a hand bang and cycle safely simultaneously
>oh and it's pretty tiring ='( on the plus side, this would work my body and stamina, so all good yo!

Nevertheless, I will do it, for the sake of the environment at least.

So last but not least, I should remember the

Yup Yup! the key! tres important! Else, I won't be able to lock my bike and somebody might steal it.

So I have have have to remember that.

And on days my sister goes to work in the mornings, I'll be getting a ride of her, I'll wear skirts and make up on those days
hahahaha

Wish me luck for tmw! Hopefully I don't give up!

don't be lazy!

Ever since I started work, I realized I’m been ignoring the environment. Using my air conditioning to full blast, printing out stuff with no consideration for the number of papers being used. Driving at top speed, chugging down fuel for such short distances.

I’ve never felt guiltier in my life. It is very important for us to be conscious of our rapidly degrading environment.

Here’s a little of what I have done in the recent days:

Stopped using my air conditioning

I try and drive slow (yeah right)

I make sure before I print, there are no errors, hence need not having to re-print.

switch of computers when not in use. (along with the monitors)

Switching of switches instead of just the device that's plugged.

Fueling at night or early in the morning rather than in broad daylight.

Other things you can also do is be a vegetarian.

Vegetarianism helps the environment greatly as animal farming is one of the main contributors to global warming.

You don’t even have to be a complete vegetarian. Eating lesser amounts of meat less frequently can be practiced instead. This may be hard for some, but really, meat is like smoking, you reduce it slowly and eventually you don't need it anymore! Plus don't we love animals??

Walking or cycling instead of using cars would be very much helpful, however in KL where drivers are mad, and the government does not believe in providing bicycle and pedestrian lanes do not help much.

I hope I do not become a hypocrite. I really do try and practice what I preach, but sometimes laziness takes over me. But that shall not happen anymore. I’m gonna buy my sports shoes today!

Oh!
When I have saved up eanough money, I plan to get a can o worm for our house. i just hope it will be as it says. Clean and hassle free.

It's complicated

Okay, here's the story,

I thought staying at home and getting a job would be uber cool, but it turns out, when you start earning money, it's a different story now, you can't just spend the money on all the clothes in the world; instead, it's gotta be channeled to somewhere useful.

ok fine, that's nice to know.

Okay, maybe it's just me, but I'm seriously finding life terribly complicated. For example, you're at an age where e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g you say is taken very s.e.r.i.o.u.s.l.y.

I personally experienced this my self a couple weeks ago, where I hurt a person very close to me by making a joke...

Clearly it was a stupid one...Sigh

Now I'm witnessing one, between two very important people in my life. Lets call them A and N

A shouts, says a lot of hurtful things at times, and thinks he's always right. N on the other hand, takes thse things to heart, breeds the words in her heart, and ensures it gets embedded into every single cell of her brain, then decides to be very spiteful...

And me,
why, as usual, I get stuck in the middle, A n N wont talk to each other, instead they talk to each other via me,
btw, I ain't interested in this shit one bit!

but what to doo, they're important in my life, so I gotta stay involved.

From these past couple of events, I've learn't a few things.

a) seriously think before you talk
b) what's a joke in your head may not be to another
c)learn to take words lightly

It's not like we have such a long time on Earth (phew) so in the short span of time here, why not just laugh and love each other instead of constantly bickering and shouting...

Jeez

And if you feel you have to get absolutely angry, fine, be angry, but also take time to cool down after and GET OVER IT!

Cos, keeping it to heart isn't gonna take you anywhere, it's just gonna bring you down. FYI, this is a very serious problem among women, they forgive but they tend to not forget.

Oh and when you forgive, make sure you're sincere. Please don't be superficial.

Hope you now understand why I think the world a.k.a my life is so damn complicated!

I do not enjoy drama! and for some weird reason, ever since I've finished University, I would be faced with some drama or the other at least twice a month! Heck this is worse then getting periods!

Oh, work's getting better now.

Also, I do think that the world would be awesome, if people were like me? Don't you think so? =)

So if you insult somebody, please say sorry, if you get insulted, please forgive. And mean it both ways!

Merdeka?

Today is Merdeka, supposedly when Malaysia gained its independence from the British.

It's quite sad that my patriotism for Malysia is deteriorating as the years pass.

This year, we've witnessed so many things that show how messed up the systems that's governing us is.

The Teoh Beng Hock incident, anti-isa demonstration, Cow head incident, the PKFZ scandal, the current turmoil in MCA

As Raja Petra calls it Moodeka! Read it, and you'll be shocked as to what a sorry state our country is in.

And the incident that happened last Friday, I just pity all those people who were involved in the protest, how illiterate they must be. Hopefully such foolishness does not pass on. And that cow, it didn't deserve such humiliation after it's tragic death.

It's really quite sad. I could actually feel such a pain in my heart to know that this is the country I was born in.

I know, and I hope that my generation of Malaysian will be more compassionate amongst each other.

To me the true meaning of Merdeka is when the various races of our country can get together and have fun, like my friends and myself.

We respect each others religion, yea we may mock each other as well, but we also forgive and forget. And that is the most important thing to do.

Yes, easier said then done, but I'm sure if we out out hearts and minds to it, we can achieve peace and harmony in our beloved Malaysia.

And to all my friends and family overseas, I hope you will not forget your country and eventually come back!

Lunch with Su !

Today I went out for lunch with a dear friend of mine, coincidentally where we were, there was a vegetarian restaurant nearby. So I suggested eating there instead. I a veg, she a non, naturally the conversation steered towards the comparison between meat and mock meat and vege's. Hence this piece is mainly dedicated to her.
<3

Eating out with me is really simple. If there's food fit for me to eat, I eat, otherwise, I order a drink and continue conversations with my friends. I don't feel left out or anything and neither should you feel guilty on having a meal without me.

When I have meals with my friends, without fail, there will be a few of them, and usually the same ones, who'd tell me how much it is I'm missing out by abstaining from meat. This really doesn't bother me, so go ahead, do it again, and again, and again, it ain't gonna change me. ( You know exactly who you are =P)

Truthfully speaking, instead of having meals with friends I'd much rather do some other activity like shop, hang around, play games or just have drinks. This is not because I'm deterred by my meat-eating friends, it's only cause I don't want to be packing in any calories.

The primary reason I'm a vegetarian is because I was born into a vegetarian family and proud of it. My family were vegetarians for religious purposes. But now as I have grown older, I've come to realize it's not just for religious purposes but a whole spectrum of other reasons. But I'm nevertheless most thankful to God for getting me born into a vegetarian family.

My personal belief would be that no animal should die for my own satisfaction. No cow, chicken, sheep, goat, fish, not any animal should be killed, just to satisfy my hunger.

Plus, animals are one of the most gentle creatures around, it is us humans who go around terrorizing others. You don't hear of animal terrorists now do you?
And they're so cuteeeeee! How can you cut them up and eat them!

Don't you think so?

So cuteeeee!

I'm not trying to blackmail you or anything. But just look at them! Oh I'm gonna burst into http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=807798827880180175tears any minute!

You really don't have to eat meat, you can be perfectly healthy and not thing you might end up underweight or something. (I am l.i.v.i.n.g proof)

Anyways, here are more reasons I came across google on why you should consider being a vegetarian.

1. Why be a vegetarian?

2. Lose the blubber hehehehe

3. Some of the sexiest vegetarians around...

4. Why being a vegetarian could be a good cause

Hopefully after reading all these sites, you may be a little more inclined to go vege!

Come on people, lets do our part in saving the environment and humanity it self!

Go Vege!

PS: Even after watching "Finding Nemo" would you really want to eat fishes too?

Hmm, maybe Pixar and Disney could collaborate on making an animated movie on vegetarianism...
